With Pharmacakes and Bravado at VSA Arts Revealing Culture at The Smithsonian International Gallery in Washington, D.C., 2010
In 2010 I had the unbelievable opportunity to display three sculptures in an exhibition at The Smithsonian International Gallery in Washing, D.C. The exhibition was produced by an organization called VSA Arts that supports and assists the work of artists with disabilities and helps provide art education opportunities for people (including children) with disabilities. That is a vast oversimplification of the wonderful work that they do, but it gives you a little bit of an overall idea. The three pieces of mine that were included were entitled, “Coming of Age,” “Bravado,” and “Pharmacakes.” You’ll find photos of the individual pieces on other pages of this site, along with more explanation of the pieces and comments about the show.
