Weaker Vessels, Snow Garden, Box 13 Artspace, Houston, TX, 2015

These are more pieces of cast sugar created for a solo exhibition called “Snow Garden” that I got to do in Box 13 Artspace in Houston in 2015. The title and the grouping were sort of inspired by 1 Peter 3:7: Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with your wives with understanding, giving honor unto the wife as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

I am frankly kind of amused by the idea of women as weaker vessels. Most of the women I know are the ones holding stuff together. I would just like to go on record as saying that I would like my chance to be a weaker vessel now, please. I have been an old iron cauldron for far too long.
